A Guide to Cooking Italian Foods

Published by Author at 3:29 am under Italian Cooking

There are different ways to cook all different types of foods, and Italian foods are very popular around the world. Although for many people Italian foods only consist of pasta and bread, there is actually a lot more to it than this. In fact the reality is that practically no one in Italy eats spaghetti with just plain spaghetti sauce and rather they put a lot of labor and consideration into their dishes.

Without a doubt Italian foods are some of the finest and most favored in the world. Italian cooking is very healthful and so is the Italian way of eating and this is very important to remember when cooking.

Pizza

One of the well-loved Italian foods of all time is pizza. To make authentic Italian pizza dough you will want to proof the yeast by sprinkling it and ¼ teaspoons of sugar over warm water in a small bowl. Make sure that you stir the mixture until the yeast is completely dissolved, and then you let it stand until it is bubbly.

After this you want to wait for the water to cool and then place some flour and salt into a medium bowl, stir in the yeast and some oil until a smooth, soft dough forms. Then you place the dough on a lightly flavored surface, and begin kneading the dough by folding it in half towards you and then pressing it away from you with the heel of your hands.

Continue folding the dough and shape it into a bowl. Cover the dough with a towel and then let this stand for about an hour until it has doubled in bulk. Flatten the dough into a circle on a floured surface and then roll out the dough, starting at the center. Once you have it folded into a circle you can begin to actually make your pizza.

There are many other fantastic Italian foods as well, but one of the most important things to remember, regardless of which particular dish you are preparing, is to put serious time and consideration into your meals. Italian people have always had a way with cooking and really respect food in general.

It is important to never rush yourself when you are cooking Italian food, not only because you want it to turn out as best as it possibly can but also so that you give the food the respect that it deserves, as all authentic chefs do.
